Itinerary

We will begin our journey from Los Angeles through Highway 99, head towards King Canyon and Sequoia National Park, in between we will stop at Fresno to grab some lunch. Coming at Sequoia National Park which also happens to be the second oldest of its kind in the country. You can see the giant sequoia tress scattered in the moist land and the beautiful Sierra Nevada Mountains. Visit the Kings Canyon National Park as well, there you will find deep canyons, high peaks, giant trees and placid lake. We will be staying overnight at Modesto.

Hotel: Clarion Inn Modesto or its equivalent.

On day 2, we arrive at Sacramento, the capital of California State. It has the reputation of being called the Wild West in modern times. Before becoming the capital of California in 1854, Sacramento was a cattle auction center. Hereafter we visit the Lake Tahoe, which is the perfect destination for vacation in any time of the year with terrific weather and picturesque mountain and lake scenery. The crystal clear water in the lake offers visibility up to 75 feet from the surface and the lake stretches up to 22 miles. You have the option of taking a lake cruise too for better sightseeing purpose. Later in the evening, we will go to Reno, for some entertainment and may be some gambling too. We will stay overnight at Reno.

Hotel: Sands Regency Hotel and Casino Reno or its equivalent.
On day 3, we will be on Highway 395, driving towards South; we will stop at the Mono Lake. See this spectacular lake which is the second largest in California with area of around 60 square miles. It supposedly exists for over 700,000 years. Being such an ancient water body, its high content of salt and minerals, all together it seems like some place out of this world. Hereafter, we will drive past another lake the Crowley Lake and Mt. Whitney which is supposedly the highest summit in contiguous US. This lake tastes like 2 times more salty than sea as due to constant evaporation, salt and minerals have been depositing since ages. Following that, we will be arriving at the Red Rock Canyon State Park at southern Sierra Nevada. Witness the amazing desert cliffs and also the varied life forms in the desert, even wild eagles. By the evening we will head back to Los Angeles.
